Turbocompressors Application Turbocompressors

Application: Seal Gas Supply for Turbo Compressors

Turbo Compressors need to be suplied with external seal gas pressure.

In general there exist two different types of seal gas applications for Maximator Seal Gas Booster Stations.

In one application, the labytinth seal of the turbocompressors need to be supplied with seal gas pressure during the start/stop process and the "blocked in shut down". If the turbocompressors reach their working pressure, the labytinth seals do not need any external supply.

In the other application, the labyrinth seals of the turbocompressors need a continous supply with seal gas.The flow capacity for the labytinth seal is limited by flow restrictors from the seal in both applications.

Maximator has already build different seal gas systems which are sucessfull in operation. Usually the seal gas pressure is approx. 5 bar above the inlet pressure of the Maximator booster.

Maximator Seal Gas Booster Stations at a glance:

Depending on the application, gas coolers are installed on the gas inlet to cool down the inlet gas temperature to a required temperature.

Two or more Maximator seal gas booster are installed in parallel on the seal gas booster stations, which can be exchanged separatly without stopping the process. The gas booster stations are designed in the way, that an emergency operation is still guaranteed, even if one of the boosters needs to be maintained.
